The Young & Lost Club radar for super talent has done it again, picking up Pylo, this five piece from Bath. Matthew Aldus (vocals), James Scott (guitar), Johan Jorgensen (guitar), Richard Gully (bass) and Max Blunos (drums), like numerous bands describe themselves as a mix of folk, indie, post-rock and the like, which always just makes me think that they are confused. However, Pylo manage to successfully weave together the best of each of these genres into their own distinct and devastatingly direct style. Atmospheric to the max, flickering between glacial melodies and bold chords, this is one of those blisteringly expansive tracks that is also just a damn good toe tapper. Oh, and it’s free.
