No shoegaze or surfpop here, just blistering, punchy, stripped back rock. Like their name, Bombers arrive with no hint of reserve. Obtuse, obstructive, Forecast sizzles from the very first spoken words to its punchy and forboding and sinister, stainless steel riffs, whirling melody lines and jolting drumming, perfectly reflected in the frenetic twitching and broad panning of the video. With multiple and experimental dimensions that are perhaps surprising given its forceful and fierce nature the band The Way You Think You Look is not only a clever comment but a grand and gritty jolt of rock. Brilliant.

Holocene – Flaws In Us All

With such an electic taste in music and electric fashion in which they perform, Holocene certainly have the potential to run with the boost that the B-town scene’s stratospheric rise will no doubt provide, but take it in their own direction. Less surf shoe gaze, more straight forward indie rock, the new band have garnered support from Scratch FM, Purple Radio and Carl Barat, and release their new single Flaws In Us All on June 24^th.

Not for this band a pretence, schmoozing words they don’t mean with a sentiment that they don’t have. Friday Club are all about bold and brash statements, one they deliver with style and fervour on new single Tropical. The repeated refrain of ‘you’re not tropical’ is potent enough to have you entrapped, and is instantly enticing. Top track All I Wanna Do is seductive as hell, and as they vehemently tell you that all they wanna do is fuck, they make it sound so damn good you willingly consent. Bloody and brash, full of swagger yet dizzingly raw and honest, Friday Club create catchy and addictive tunes that are immediately engaging. Harnessing thrilling punk energy, howling, harrowing and utterly feel good, the four piece have gained notoriety because of their tireless work ethic in the city, but fame will come from being a bloody good band.
