So… part 2 of my lazy blog posts. I actually intended to do this post in September, so I am severely behind! So far Tizzie Kite has just done covers, my personal favorite being Talking to The Moon by Bruno Mars, which you can check out here:[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kkocu2AFOY4]
She has such a strong voice and you can really hear her own kind of take to the songs shes singing. She’s actually been making covers to songs on YouTube as part of a challenge set to her by the Salvation Army, and I believe she has completed her challenge now.

Released on 5th December 2011, on Labour of Love.

Reviewed by Francesca Baker

Another feverishly ambitious track from Post War Years All Eyes follows the blueprint set by 2009 debut The Greats and The Happenings and takes it to architecturally impressive heights. Slightly soothing yet unhinged melodies from lead vocalist Simon create a welcoming and stealthy atmosphere. Forty-five seconds in a crashing of strings turns the pace and volume up, and from here on an increasingly fervid intensity reverberates. A broad montage of sounds and instruments fly in, some of apparently from nowhere, yet some how sound like they are meant to be. Volleying between the violent and whimsical, abrasive guitars and monomaniacal drum beats march the song along, until Simon’s looping ‘all the time in the world’ competes with lashing vocals from the rest of the band, culminating in a gloriously abrasive crescendo before snapping into dribbling electrics. Wonderful.

This latest offering from the Oxford five-piece builds on the already great work prevalent in the previous releases. With their upbeat sound continuing to shine through White Russian is a brilliant set of tracks to listen to.
Although all three tracks are welcome additions to any playlist, personally I feel the best track on this EP is ‘Elton John’. Straight from the first second you are bombarded with sounds which just flow together to create a phenomenon of fun that you can never listen to too much.
All that is left to say is that you should buy this EP off iTunes NOW! Go on do it!
