After a summer break It’s All Happening are returning to the King’s Head on Friday 2nd September, and with Yearbook, Barely Modern & Control on the bill, it’s going to be a good one!!
£4 in advance or before 8, £5 after
Tickets from King’s Head, It’s All Happening, andhttp://www.wegottickets.com/event/127452
Yearbook’s stutter and starts through their angular architecture has prompted numerous comparisons to Bloc Party, but with punk energy rather than pretentious attitudes. Their lyrical dexterity weaved with angst fuelled riffs is available for you to check out in advance, on their EP All Squares & Circle, available to download freeeee.
Barely Modern make the kind of scuzzy garage rock that has the music press periodically wetting their pants and predicting a return to the good old days of days of Albion. Originally from Slovenia, they now call London home, and It’s All Happening have already put money on success shaking their way.
Control, five lads from South East London play songs that whirl along like bittersweet clouds of confetti, propulsive choruses being carried by catchy melodies. ‘Sea of Doubt’ is as good a place as any to start your listening journey.
