The first single to be taken from third album Gold or Dust, Emily is the new song from Cocos Lovers. the video was shot on the Kent coast at Samphire Hoe, inspired by the disused remnants of the second world war on the white cliff, and the slightly disconcerting and distant landscape reflects the way the song straddles between hopeful futures and bleak losses. Gentle whistling melodies, folk inspired craft and a gentle delivery, all lifted by a carousing entry of the male voices to lift the tune from slow meditation to rousing inspiration.

NYC band Shy Around Strangers create the kind of music that would not have sounded out of place in the dark clubs of the 80s, all romantic grooves, gritty basslines and melodic synths. Singer Emily delivers husky vocals that hover the line between sexy and scary over alluring guitar work and smokey drums.
