I read a press release the other day that said how indie-folk is the genre of now. I have to admit, for a while I’ve wished it wasn’t. Take your beards and your Mumfords tones and bugger off back to your manor houses in the country. But sometimes a great melody, some boundlessly energetic riffs and a gruff voice combine to create an infectiously catchy song, that, genre regardless, is great. Hunter & The Bear‘s new single Forest On The Hill is one such tune. The London trio are currently finishing up their latest EP, and given the thirst for indie folk, the adoring public will wait, especially with Forest On The Hill to keep them satisifed for now. Out Sept 29th.
