The return after five years sees Rolf Klausener and The Acorn back with simple and sparse track Influence which fuses acoustic guitars with a pulsing electronic synth to expand on their previous folk style into new musical spheres. Light and ambiguous in tone, the song is brooding and expressive, layering the vocals and melodies into a well woven fabric of emotion. Described as a ‘meditation on quiet reflection’ by Klausener, it’s an excellent intro to the album out in June on Paper Bag Records.
