So the last couple of weeks have seen what London loves. Is it possible that the Olympics was even better than the Jubilee? Girls and boys all over the country have been inspired  by young and lovely athletes winning their races, flying through the finish with no distance left to run. Whether sitting in your country house, partying under the westway, or kicking back in front of the advert free BBC, ready with coffee and TV, I’m pretty sure you have been heard to sing your support. Well, the Olympics themselves may be out of time, but Blur’s amazing gig at Hyde Park on Sunday 11th meant that there was no need to feel tender, and this is (not) a low. Not stuffy, just sublime, not ordered and boring, but open hearted and punk spirited, a dazzling and dizzying production celebrating the vibrant and alive popular culture of Britain, both the Olympic opening ceremony and its soundtrack are a grand vivid account of Britain, delivered with a huge dollop or humour and a host of self-deprecation.
