Welcome The Incredible Magpie Band. All the obvious influences are there – The Las, The Coral, Captain Beefheart and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (although it’s Liam who has supported the band online and instore at Pretty Green) – but rather than tired it’s a strangely refreshing mix of buoyant rhythms, smattering magical loops and dizzy yet tight drums. The Incredible Magpie Band have honed in on the glinting vibrant sixties scene and jazzed it up with their own jingle jangle and sonic simplicity. Check out double A side This Chose Me / Money below.
