Dreamy and shimmery sounds are on offer from Boardwalk, an LA duo signed to the brilliant Stones Throw Records. If you need a genre, and let’s face it, in a world full of new music a label makes picking what to investigate further a bit easier (I want to be warned if I am going to be subjected to some kind of thrash hip hop fusion, thank you very much) it’s dreampop.  New single Crying is perfect misty haze. Think Sunday mornings, legs wrapped in the sheets, the day floating away. Amber Quintero’s hazy vocals beautifully set off the lo-fi whispering guitar work from band pal Mike Edge and Mark Noseworthy. Their self titled debut album is out now.
