Sometimes we need something to cheer us up. Even better when it comes in a perfect pop package. Cherryade are London based duo Ella and Alex. Having met as childhood friends and bonded over a shared love of Lil’ Kim, M.I.A. and South Park, their sound has developed from drunken teenage GarageBand demos to fully fledged left field pop bangers. They’ve just shared their new EP, Sinking Ship, and it’s full of buoyant melodies, rippling beats, and good fun tunes. They say ‘Essentially, they’re a bunch of songs written about being positive and confident in the face of the whole world falling apart around us.’
