Analog Candle – Trier

Moving from drinking soda pop to sinking feelings, as teenagers are wont to do, Trier by Analog Candle is a seamlessly dreamy pop journey that follows the decay of the relationship and reminiscing on it via the yearbook. Starting off hazy it shifts mto a blissed out middle section that builds up with quivering avant-garde guitar and passionate buoyant instrumentals, and the gliding vocals of Emma Tringali (of Pop & Obachan) hover over a hybridization of slices of pop juxtaposed with shadowy electronics. The ten piece art collective were formed by producer and songwriter Callum Plews, and influenced by the early albums of Animal Collective and Broken Social Scene, Arcade Fire, Beach House, jazz, folk and emo, and the surrealist and absurdist literature from Haruki Muramaki, Franz Kafka and Sylvia Plath, all creating a mixed up merging of influences and sounds in their forthcoming Winter ’15 EP.
