Canadian shoegaze indie group Close Talker release their third album Lens this Spring, brilliantly described by Noisey as ‘a cautionary tale for fakers and braggers.’ First single Okay Hollywood twitches with melancholic rhythms, building in briskness and layering harmonies before breaking into achingly moody choruses over an intense bassline. Evocative of Cold War Kids, Bombay Bicycle Club and Iron & Wine, the band’s ability to write a catchy tune has not waned now they’ve gone from four to three. In fact, as Matt states ‘the live show always has at least nine limbs working full time.’
Released on April 20th via Nevado Music and followed up by new album Lens on May 12th, Close Talker will also be kicking off their European tour with an Old Blue Last show on May 22nd.
