Indie pop with a splash of Interpol. That’s how I’d describe The Brave Faces, who are influenced by 80s post-punk, shoegaze and contemporary indie. Sweeping melodies, bubbling chords, and glimmering rhythms make for a potent song on In The Dark. ‘In the Dark explores power within a relationship,’ says the band. ‘They’re delivered from the perspective of someone offering up fumbled clichés as apologies, desperately trying to save face after the latest in a series of breaches of trust.’These are dark times indeed, but The Brave Faces are a bright light.
