Surfer’s Paradise. I’m promised glitz, glamour, bright white buildings and brighter sand. When a place is compared to Paris Hilton, I don’t necessarily expect that we will get on, but I do expect a certain shininess. Instead, it is throwing it down with rain, the sky is grey, the sea greyer, and by the time I arrive at QT Gold Coast, I am soaked to the skin. It’s the only day I have experienced heavy rain in Australia other than Christmas bloody Day.
