Coinciding with details of their new album Corsicana Lemonade, to be released on November 4th on Downtown Records Austin band White Denim have unveiled new single Pretty Green. Eschewing the complex prog and jazz noodling of their debut, the song is confident and concise, immediate and startling in its ability to feel known and new. Recorded on equipment from the 40s and 70s, as well as no doubt some more modern stuff, Pretty Green drips in old fashioned groove. It’s skiffly, sketchy start germinates and blossoms into a distinct syncopated beat and caramel vocals, the whole things a defiant and confident two fingers up at all things synth and surf. But not just for the sake of it, but because that is White Denim, and the assured, unflustered and damn good delivery is intoxicating. Touring with Tame Impala in October, they will be heading to the UK in November.
