Hazy and happening, Athlete is the new tune from Athlete Austin-based Why Bonnie who have recently announcing their new EP, Voice Box, set for release April 10th via Fat Possum Records. It feels casual and swooning, with bracing textures stridently executed, fervent and bold. There are elements of light counterpoised by deep shade, with dreamy daze and shimmering hooks. Speaking about the track, the band said ‘Athlete is about the frustration of not being able to keep up with the “team” and learning to laugh when you fumble.’
